"You know your potential, and it’s up to you to set that standard."

This piece could not have come up on my feed at a more perfect time. Loved it!

I love how you start off with the “faking it till you make it” I’ve been trying to replace that with “confidence comes from showing up for yourself.”

I am exploring this idea. I must say it is hard to trust yourself when you don't have the notion of "what is right, what is for you and what is my direction that I am willing to move to" therefore I think I tend to ask for guidance and advice. Hope we all learn how to find "yourself".

Thank you for writing!

I would like to add that, another form of confidence is continuing to listen to your internal voice, no matter how many people will project their shame and insecurities onto you. Esp with the unsolicited opinions and advice I’ve gotten, which usually comes from control and projection. Although some people may give unsolicited advice out of love. It’s just knowing when to listen and see what my internal compass says as well.

I am in love with your pieces and currently binging them over a cup of coffee this Sunday morning. This particular essay made me think back to one of my favorites, Joan Didion’s “On Self Respect.” 🩷

Needed this as someone who constantly measures my success and self worth based off the feedback from others rather than from myself.
